Elf Essential Blush Swatches/Review in Glow & Coy

I've had these blushes since maybe -- June? I've been meaning to do a review/swatch post of them and just keep forgetting about it :(

Anyway - these are the new Elf Essential Blushes for $2 - not $1. They use to have these in a different compact (a shitty compact) for $1 and it didn't include a brush. They still have the same colors - I'm not too sure if they have updated the formula at all or not. I picked up the colors Coy & Glow.

I personally like these blushes. Sure, they are a bit 'chalky' but it's a blush for $2 -- what do you expect? They are actually really pigmented. Glow is such a pretty shimmery peach color and Oh my gawdddd - Coy is an AMAZING color! It's like a shimmery nude-taupe color? I can't really even describe what color it is - pictures cannot even do this color justice. It's a lovely and unique color. I'm not sure about the lasting power because the times I've worn these I haven't paid attention to see if they lasted all day or not. So I can't really say about that - but for $2 - I would say give these a shot!

Elf Disney Villians Maleficent Palette - with Swatches!

I just did a review for the Cruella palette -- so here's my review for this one!
In case you haven't read the other post about the Cruella palette -- these are $9.99 and are ONLY available at select Wal-greens.

This one includes:
8 eyeshadows
1 eyelid primer
1 liquid eyeliner
2 lip & cheek pencils

Swatches:

I have yet to test this palette out. I haven't really went anywhere to be putting on makeup lately :P The 'day' eyeshadows I have found from swatching aren't as pigmented as the 'night' eyeshadows. This palette comes with a clear glitter liner instead of the black liner like the other palette. I really like this liner! I think it will look great and you can use it in so many different ways.

I said I was going to purchase the other one - but I don't think I am. Not that I don't like these palettes - because I do -- I just know I won't wear them a lot so I know they'll go to waste :/ I have too much makeup and should probably limit myself and not buy the other one just for shits & giggles lol.

Elf Disney Villians Cruella Palette - w/ SWATCHES!

If you read my blog - you already know I'm a huge Elf fanatic. So when I found out about this I was excited! I was kinda iffy about the price -- being $9.99 (don't act like I'm cheap! You know Elf is inexpensive! :P). The reason being is because it's really hit or miss with their eyeshadows. Some Elf eyeshadows are great while others suck and don't have any pigmentation. But I picked up 2 of these to test out.

First off -- I'll start by saying that these are ONLY available at select Walgreens. You can check out Elf's website and do a store locator on this item to see if any of your local Walgreens carry it. They don't even sell this item on Elf's website. These cost $9.99 each.

This one includes:
8 eyeshadows
eyelid primer
2 lip & cheek color pencils
1 liquid eyeliner
1 pair false lashes & lash glue

This also includes a little day & night tutorial on how to use these palettes like most Elf Beauty Books do! The one thing that is different about this Elf Beauty Book is that they actual named their eyeshadows in these palettes :)

My overview of this palette thus far:
I haven't done a look on myself using these yet - because I just picked them up yesterday! But I did a look on my mom using the night time Cruella look and the eyeshadows are quite pigmented and blended out well on her eyelids. I've tried the Elf eye primer before  - it's $1 from their essential line - it actually works good. The liquid liner is also from their essential line & is $1. It works well for the price - I personally find that the tip of the eyeliner brush is too thin for my liking - but it works nice. The lip colors are actually pretty nice! I have yet to use them on my cheeks however. I'm not sure how well these would blend out as blush? Kinda weird - but maybe it works!

I recommend this palette. This is a neutral everyday look palette. I think it's a nice kit and the eyeshadows in this palette actually have nice pigmentation.

I also picked up the Maleficent kit - and tomorrow once I get paid I'm going to get the Evil Queen one. I unfortunately didn't have enough cash with me to get all 3 at the same time :( That's why I'm reviewing them separately. So be sure to check back tomorrow for a review on the other one! :)

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Elf HD Blushes !

I recently ordered these from eyeslipsface.com. When I saw these -- I had to have them. I believe blush is my favorite makeup item - I have wayyy too many! :( But I used a 50% off coupon code so I could purchase every color of these to swatch & review for you guys! :)

These are available on: eyeslipsface.com & they are $3.00 each.

Here's the description on Elf's website:
"Rich and creamy HD Blush naturally sculpts and highlights the cheekbones for a soft-focus effect that is great for everyday use. The Vitamin E enriched formula conditions and hydrates the skin for a healthy, radiant glow. Velvety soft, lightweight and highly pigmented color creates a long-lasting result for all day wear."

First off I'll start out by saying that these are VERY VERY pigmented. You need just a teeny tiny drop of this product - and that goes a long way. The bottles are actually smaller than I thought they'd be -- but it's still a lot of product for only $3.00 and since a little does go along way - it'll last you a long time. As you can tell in some of the pictures -- some of the blushes are more 'watered' down than others. Some people who have done previous reviews on this product complained about this - but I find it to be a good thing. It makes it easier to blend out and into the skin. I also have found that these stain a bit. But once again -- a good thing if you're wanting a lasting blush.

I personally love these blushes and find that they are a great price at $3.00 -- even though I got mine for $1.50 :P I totally recommend these blushes. I also can't wait to use the darkest one Showstopper during winter :D It'll look pretty against my very pale skin blended out well I think ;)

REVIEW: Hard Candy Take It Off Makeup Remover

I've been meaning to do a review on this product for a couple of months now & just have put it off due to being busy & laziness. Anyway, I purchased this product back in like March -- I think? I got it for my kit to use for like prom makeup in case I needed to remove some makeup. Back in June I was looking through my makeup kit and realized I haven't really used this so I took it out and oh my gaaawwddd -- why did I put this away?! This product is AMAZING!

I use this to remove my eye makeup mainly. I use a cleanser for my face. But this gets off gel liner, waterproof eyeliner/mascara, and glitter! It gets off everything. I love it!

I've been looking for a good makeup remover after running out of my Lancome eye remover (I can't remember the name of it because it was all fancy and spelled funny :P). I first bought the L'oreal eye makeup remover that is blue and it SUCKS! It just moved your makeup down all over your face and didn't take it off. So I picked up this one because it was new at the time that I purchased it. This was only $5.00 at Wal-Mart.

This removes everything -- doesn't just move the unwanted makeup around on your face -- it takes it off. This is like a lotion remover which at first I thought would be weird since I'm used to liquid. But it works really well. I put a dab onto a cotton round & smear it with my finger then remove my eye makeup.

They also have this product in wipe form! I haven't tried those yet because I think you get way more uses out of the lotion tube more-so than 25 or however many wipes you get.

I highly recommend this product. It works great and it's inexpensive!

New Elf Baked Blush, Eyeshadow, & Bronzer + GIVEAWAY!!

I placed a rather large order on eyeslipsface.com last Thursday & I got it in the mail today! I saw that they had new baked items from their Studio Line! So I got every new baked blush they had, 2 out of 3 of the bronzers, and only 1 of their new baked eyeshadows. I wanted to do a quick little opening/mini review of these!

All of these products are $3 each. However, I used a coupon and got 50% off so I only paid $1.50 per product. You should always google coupon codes for Elf before ordering!

Okay first up, the blushes! I was so excited to see these! When I saw them online they kind of reminded me of Mac's Mineralized Skin finishes. Here's what I think about each of these:

Pinktastic: This isn't really a blush -- but an awesome highlight. It's a very pretty glittery creamy/white color.

Passion Pink: A pinky color. Very very shimmery, but it's a very pretty coraly pink color.

Peachy Cheeky: I was most excited about this blush in particular. I actually like this blush the best out of the 4 personally. It's a very nice shimmery peachy color. Nicely pigmented. Love it!

Rich Rose: Probably the least pigmented out of the 4 blushes. I still do enjoy this blush (or of what I swatched of it anyway)! It's like a dark rosy/brownish pink color. Very pretty.

So all of these blushes are super shimmery. They all also have veining of multiple colors through them.

Next up, bronzers. I was pretty excited to test these out as well -- but I am a little disappointed with these.

St. Lucia: This doesn't do anything for me what-so-ever. It's not dark at all -- and it's not light enough to even be a highlight on myself. It may be a nice highlight for a tan/medium skin tone -- but definitely not a bronzer. I don't even think this could be a bronzer for pale skin!

Maui: This one is a little bit darker -- still not dark enough for a bronzer for me :( It's a very nice shimmer though. I may use these as highlighters once I get tan.

I probably should have gotten the darkest color of the bronzers, but I thought that it'd be too dark for my skin :(

Lastly, the eyeshadows.I only picked up one of these because I don't really like baked eyeshadows. They never seem to be as pigmented as I'd like them to be.

Bark: I was actually very surprised by this eyeshadow! I love it! It's very pigmented. I actually wore this one to work today over a Mac Paint Pot -- and it lasted all day without creasing & fading. I now want to get all of the other baked eyeshadows to try them out. I honestly thought these would be horrible -- but this specific shade (can't really speak for the other shades) is extremely pigmented & lovely.

GIVEAWAY!
I purchased an extra blush to giveaway! I picked out the Peachy Cheeky for my giveaway.
Interested in winning? All you have to do is Follow my blog & leave a comment below letting me know you're interested in entering!
This contest IS international as well & will end July 1, 2012. I will post an entry with the randomly selected winner!

So overall, I really like the blushes & eyeshadows. Not too much of a fan for the bronzers.. but I'm sure once I find a use to them, I will love them. They're nice and pretty colors -- but just not for my skin tone.
Have you guys tried out any of the new Elf products? I also got the Mineral Mist & a few other goodies -- i'll do a separate post on those if interested. But for now, it's rather late & I'm superrrrr tired :( Goodnight lovies!

REVIEW: Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain

Once I saw everyone trying these out, I wanted to try a couple as well. I went to Rite Aid first which didn't currently have them in stock. Then I went to CVS but they only had the dark uglier colors I wasn't interested in. THEN, I went to one of my local Wal-Marts (I have 3 that I go to), and they were all sold out, even the uglier darker colors... FINALLY I went to my second local Wal-Mart & found them all there! They must have just set them out or something because they had all the colors. I picked up the colors Charm & Darling.

Normally when it comes to balm, like the Revlon Lip Butters -- I tend to go a little darker than I'd normally wear since they are rather sheer. However, I really really wanted the Charm color which is a pastel peachy nude color. I thought this would be really sheer on my lips -- but it's not. It's not as pigmented as say a lipstick is, but you can tell I have some color on my lips. I got Darling since it was a rather odd lavender pinky color because I knew it wouldn't be true to it's color.. and it's not. Its really pretty and wearable. I really enjoy both of the colors I picked up.

 Me wearing Charm

 Me wearing Darling

What I Think: To be honest, I was scared to spend the money on trying these out. I thought it would be a rather odd product that Revlon invented. Balms and Stains are completely different from one another & to put them together is... different. But somehow, it worked. I really liked the sheer color payoff of these two that I picked up. I wear them to work a lot because they last for awhile and the color doesn't wear off so easily such as a lipstick so I don't have to re-apply the product as much. These are moisturizing, but not too moisturizing like a regular lip balm. The color of the stain is very lasting. But if you're looking for a really pigmented product out of these -- then you'll be disappointed. I knew these would be sheer though, and that's why I wasn't sure if I'd like them -- but i'm very surprised that I like them as much as I do. These are self sharpening by the way, which is very convenient.

I would definitely recommend you try these out. They are rather pricey (well, for my cheap ass anyway) at about $8 at Wal-Mart -- but I think it's a well spent $8.

REVIEW: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Treatment Concealer

I got this a few months ago -- I think in March? It was in my March favorites. I really really love this product. I picked up mine from Wal-Mart for around $7-8. Let's get to the basics :) ..

I don't have any other makeup on in this picture btw ;)

Packaging: Sucks. It's convenient how it has the sponge applicator at the top, but it's messy. As you can see in the picture, mine has gotten all over the inside of the lid. Also if I wanted to add this item to my kit, I wouldn't be able to because there is no way of sanitizing it :( You can also notice in the picture that there is some product stuck on the little spiral thingy that moves downward that I will not be able to use (if that makes sense?). I've heard a lot of people saying their product packaging broke -- but I have yet to have that problem.

How I Apply It: I start from the inner corner of my eye & blend it with my finger all the way underneath my eye. Then after blending, I add some more to the darker part of my under eye & pat it out till it's blended for better coverage.
Overall Opinion: I really like this product. It actually works. I have extremely dark under eye circles and normally liquid concealers do not cut it for me. I normally have to use kind of thick creamy concealers. I was kind of sketchy about trying this product out.. but I'm glad I did. It covers up my circles, and since this is a treatment concealer, overtime it lightens up your dark circles! No shit, it really works! I can tell a difference in the color of my under eye after the few months that I've been using it. This product actually lasts for a while as well. I've had it since March & it's currently June -- and I still have about half of the product left & I use it every single day.

I recommend this product if you have problems with under eye darkness.. I am really surprised with the outcome of this product. It works so good that the bad packaging doesn't really bother me.

Zelda Skyward Sword Review

Okay, so I know this game came out this past November - but I haven't played it since Decemeber :P... Until this past week..

I got stuck on one part in the Earth Temple & was frustrated & didn't play it for like 3 months lol. Sad, I know - but I get that way sometimes. But here lately, I've been so into playing this game - I can't stop!

Zelda Skyward Sword is a great game. I still haven't beaten it yet - I am currently located in the Lanayru Mining Facility. The artwork in this game is like a mixture between Wind Waker & Twilight Princess. It's like a watercolor effect & it looks just lovely. The graphics are great for a Wii game! The story line is basically the same - you need to find Zelda.. etc, etc. But the gameplay is a bit different than other Zelda games in my opinion. In Ocarina of Time, you have to run (or roll) around Hyrule & go around on foot to get to where you need to be -- which sometimes takes FOREVER. However, in this Zelda - you can actually run! You do have a stamina meter thing - so you can only run around in short bursts at a time. But it's much more handy than having to walk/roll to your destinations. Next, it is kind of like Wind Waker in the sense that you have to travel around to the different areas. In Wind Waker, you traveled by boat. In Skyward Sword - you travel around on your bird by flying to the area below. Also, in this game - you have almost all the same weapons/tools you have in the other Zelda games - bomb flowers, sword, shield, & the slingshot. The only thing you do not have is the boomerang. However, they replaced it with something much better (in my opnion) -- the Beetle. You shoot this little device into the air to hit certain switches & later in the game you upgrade to the 'Hook Beetle' where you can grab bombs & drop them on enemies. You also do not have Navi following you around annoyingly in this one. You have this sword goddess or something named Fi. She can be annoying at sometimes too though. Not near as bad as Navi. Also, no Ganon in this one! The bad guy in this game is Ghirahim. The one problem with this game that a lot of people have is that you can only use motion controls - no classic controls here. I believe they should have made the option to choose which you'd like to use for those who have issues using the motion controls. However, I personally do not have a problem with the controls - I think they are great. You actually have to slice your enemies up instead of pressing buttons -- which can make your arms kinda sore  -- but its worth it in the end! I think it's fun anyway.. if you're a fan of the Zelda series such as I am -- this is definitely worth your time & money.

That's all I have for now since I have yet to complete this game. But hopefully I will in the next couple of weeks - because I have literally been playing a ton!

Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj Lipstick Swatches / Compared to Chatterbox!

My boyfriend picked me up this lipstick because he knew I was wanting it. I personally don't really care for Nicki Minaj - but I do enjoy this lipstick :) I normally don't get limited edition items because I don't like the fact that I may fall in love with an item & then by the time that I use it up - I will no longer be able to purchase it anymore :( But this Viva Glam Limited Edition lasts for almost a year I believe. This lipstick costs $14.50 & all the $$ goes to HIV/AIDS. I don't know why I'm explaining this like all of you don't already know? Oh well! :D

Sorry for the sloppy application :/

I've heard that this lipstick was like Chatterbox - and Chatterbox was my first ever Mac lipstick! I really like it - it's a beautiful color - but it's a bit darker than I personally like. I love bright lipsticks! So when I picked up the Nicki lipstick - in the tube - it does kind of look like Chatterbox. But once you pair them together, you can tell a difference. The Viva Glam Nicki has more yellow undertones to it and is brighter. I personally like the Nicki one better for my skin tone. I do like Chatterbox though. I'll most likely wear Chatterbox in the summertime when I have a nice little tan going on. Just looks funny since I'm rather pale at the moment :P

You can tell a difference in my opinion. So Chatterbox isn't a dupe for it :( However, I am on the look out for a dupe for this lovely lipstick!

I like this lipstick a lot - but I wouldn't wear it everyday like my other lighter pinks. This shade is pretty on me (at least my boyfriend and I think so) - but I think it would be amazing for people with darker skin!

I hope this helped a little. Maybe? :D
Have a good day/night sugar pops!

Orange you glad it's almost Spring?!

Okay, totally gay headline - but that's all I could think of :)

I have been wanting to purchase an orange blush and orange lipstick for awhile now. I think they'll look really nice for spring. At the time of picking out these products, I was at Wal-Mart - so I got only drugstore items. I picked out the Hardy Candy Fox in a Box in Skinny Dipping and Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti.

( Don't mind my ugly chapped lips - I just woke up! )

First I'll start off with the Lip Butter.
I've heard a whole ton about these! So I figured I would try them. Normally I go for my usual baby pinks or nudes - but I am not afraid to wear those colors and I knew that these lip butters would be kind of sheer. So I went for a more bold color - orange :) I'm kinda scared to wear a bright bold orange or purple lip - so I decided I'd try the orange first. And let me tell you, if you are kind of scared such as I then you will LOVE this product! It's a more wearable version of a bright orange. It's sheer - yet pigmented. So if you're wanting to come out of your shell but not yet to go all the way bright and bold - the darker shades of the lip butters are for you! :) I also plan on getting the Raspberry Pie one which is a darker bright purple.

Second, Fox in a Box.
I wanted a nice orange blush. This is the only blush I could find that was truly orange at Wal-Mart at the time. I haven't tried this on my face yet, but I swatched it and I love the color payoff of it. It's very nice and  I can't wait to wear it! And I just wanted to point this out - I've seen a few reviews on this product - and they say the darker side is a bronzer but it's not really? I guess it could be considered a very light bronzer for very pale skin? Haha, but it's more of a beige-peach color.

Swatches:
I don't really like doing swatches of blush because it's kind of hard to. They are not going to be as pigmented as lip or eyeshadow swatches because blush is just for a 'flush' of color.

Have you tried any good TRUE orange products that you like?

Zeldaaaaa! Skyward Sword is GREAT!

All I've been doing all day since I've got off work is playing Zelda. I can't stop! :( Even though I said I'd do a blog possibly today on vintage outfits of mine -- sorry, I have yet to take any pictures because I've been engrossed in ZELDA!  :D But that blog entry will come one day soon (maybe? :P).
This game is great. The graphics are really nice as well (like Twilight Princess for Wii!). Currently, I am only 4.17 hours in - and my boyfriend told me today that there are 100 hours! Whattt?! Haha. This game will be endless for me. Especially since I get very frustrated with things easy. I have already gotten frustrated with one part of this game at the beginning! Ha. I got annoyed with the 'Wing Ceremony' thing - I couldn't get the fucking statuette thing - I finally got it on my third try.

Anyway, I'm just blabbing on about a game that you probably don't care about. So, for that - I shall go!
If you like the previous Zeldas (Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask) - you would most likely like this one as well! So I definitely recommend it! Plus, the game comes with an awesome gold Zelda remote with the Triforce on it :D

Lime Crime Coquette Lipstick Dupe / Review

I received my new Lime Crime Lipstick in the mail about 2 days ago, and this is what the color was suppose to look like:
www.limecrimemakeup.com

However, when I got it - it's not the pale pinkish nude that I thought it'd be like on their website. It's more of a beige nude - like a tan-ish nude. It's still a nice color - and I like it -- but I already have a lipstick like that :(

In fact, the color I already have like Lime Crime's Coquette is Revlon's Colorburst Soft Nude Lipstick.
Almost the same exact color! Sorry, I've used my Revlon Soft Nude quite a bit :P

Of course, Coquette is more pigmented than Soft Nude - but it should be - it's about $10 than the Revlon Soft Nude! If you've read my other review on my other Lime Crime Lipsticks, I really like those - but this one had a bit of a different texture - it doesn't go on as smoothly as the others I have (Cosmopop & Great Pink Planet). However, Revlon's Soft Nude - it goes on easier. But of course, you have to use more of the Soft Nude product to get as much pigmentation as Coquette.

Coquette looks really nice with about 2 layers on & a nice tanish/nude lipgloss to go over it. I do like Coquette, but I just thought it'd be a pinky-nude more so than a beige-nude.
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude (#070) = About $6
Lime Crime Lipstick in Coquette = $16
