REVIEW: Nyx Candy Glitter Liner

I got these a few days ago in the mail & tested them out. I ordered the colors Disco Queen and Jade from all the colors they have. I got Disco Queen to wear over a black liquid liner & Jade to wear over a tealish/green liquid liner! I normally am not one for glitter liner - but I figured these would look good as a winged eyeliner.

These are really lovely! I was kind of scared of the odd applicator - but it works fine for just going over a darker color liner. I really like these - they last long! Don't use too many layers over and over again because it will take FOREVER to dry! But just one line of this stuff normally has enough glitter in it. I recommend these!

December 2011 Favorites!

Firstly, I want to post a picture of this cute new shirt I got! Well, a part of it -

 I got it on sale for $10! It's a crop top but in a size Large - so I can wear it without an undershirt :P You like?!

It was sooo cold today! My boyfriend and I cuddled up on the couch & watched a movie!

Anyway, I don't really have too many favorites this month because I haven't really had the money to buy anything for myself since I had to get a ton of Christmas gifts for everyone! So I just have a few products I'd like to share that I enjoyed this past month.

 Mostly Elf stuff - only one thing that isn't (& it's Lancome).

 Elf Studio Pressed Powder in Sand

I have just recently been using face powder, and this was the first one I purchased just because I was placing an Elf order & figured why not? It's cheap! And I actually really like this. It covers nicely. I like it! However, it's very powdery. So it wastes a lot of product if you use a brush with it rather than a sponge. I've heard this is a Mac Studio Fix dupe - but I wouldn't know :P I haven't used any other powders to compare it to.

 Elf Complexion Perfection

I've heard mixed reviews about this product. Some people love it & some people hate it. Obviously since it's in my December favorites - I love it. I use this before I put on anything. I mix my Elf Powder Brush in all 4 shades & then apply it. It makes my skin tone look more even. I think the people who don't like this is if they buy this palette for a certain shade & realize that it's actually kind of translucent more so than a color corrector for certain areas on the face.

 Elf Studio Bronzer in Warm Bronze

I've done a review on my Mac Gold Deposit bronzer which I love (see review here: http://stfulaurenpack.blogspot.com/2011/10/review-mac-mineralize-skinfinish-in.html )

But since it is winter - my skin is extremely pale now. So I needed something a bit lighter. So I've been using this Warm Bronze & I love it! It's very nice & gives you just the right glow (if you're on the lighter side such as I). 

*But here recently, I purchased the Mac Matte Bronze & haven't really used it yet - I want to start using a Matte Bronzer more so than shimmer because it's suppose to look more natural looking than glittery. It's also suppose to define the areas you contour and if it has glitter in it -- it kind of defeats the purpose. So I'm going to start using a matte bronzer to see how that works. I'm blabbing on about a new bronzer because even though I got a $23 Mac bronzer -- I am also going to be purchasing a $3 Elf bronzer (the Cool Bronzer) which is also matte to see how the colors differ & see which looks best! I'll be posting up on that once I get it & test it out :)

 Elf Studio Blush in Pink Passion

I like the Elf blushes! Last month Berry Merry was my favorite. Now I'm back into my pink cheeks again & this is one of my go to pinks. It's a matte BRIGHT pink! Really pretty. I loove it!

Lancome Cils Booster XL Mascara

My last favorite! This is just a sample size of the product - I got it with my full size Doll Lashes mascara. I looooove this stuff! I plan on purchasing a bigger tube of it for my kit. It extends your natural lashes & makes them look extremely longer than usual.

REVIEW: 15 Concealer Palette & DEMO

I've had this product for about a month now, and figured I'd do a little review / demo. I know that Coastal Scents & BH Cosmetics & other online shops sell items JUST like this -- but I got mine off EBay. They are the same product. I personally like EBay better just because of the price. I got this particular item for $4.96 with FREE shipping! On Coastal Scents - this product goes for $14.95 + shipping! Mine came from Hong Kong -- so it took I think exactly 2 weeks to arrive - which I don't mind - it's coming from half way across the world.

This has 15 total colors.

• 3 Corrector colors - Green (for redness), Yellow (for dark circles/bruises), & Purple/Lilac for cancelling out yellowness? I think.
• 1 Highlighter
• and 11 shades of concealer!

Here's swatches of the correctors & highlighter:

 This is good because you can use this product throughout the year. You can change concealers from winter to summer without purchasing a new one! 

If this doesn't have your exact shade -- don't worry -- you can mix them to make your own color!

 You can also use this for contouring & highlighting.

You can ALSO use this palette to define your eyebrows! That's what I use the darkest color in the palette for. I don't fill in my eyebrows with this -- but I take an angled eyeliner brush and dip it in the darkest brown in the palette and go underneath my eyebrow and draw a line pushing upward into the end of my eyebrow to define my brow! I am oh so sorry if that doesn't make sense. I'm not sure if that makes sense - but if you are confused and would like to see how I do that - then just ask & i'll do a seperate blog post! :)

My opinion of this product:

Overall, I like this product. It works very well & covers up nicely. I use the dark brown color every day to define my brows. As concealer though, my under eyes are kind of dry cause it's winter - and this is a pretty thick product - so you can see where my dry skin is mixed with the product & it doesn't look too flattering. This may look better if you use moisturizer underneath -- i'm not too sure. But for covering up blemishes - I'd recommend this product. Plus, it's affordable!

* I've heard you can mix these with Mac's Fix+ to thin them down a bit and can even use these as foundations! I personally wouldn't know because I've never used Fix+ -- but I will be trying it soon! :)

I wanted to do a demonstration of this product just so you could see how well it covers blemishes!

I used Thirtyonewest's 'Sugar Pot' eyeshadow for the 'bruise'. It's a dark brown/plum purple color. Over this, I applied the yellow corrector to cancel out the purple. Then over that, I applied a skintone concealer. Then I blended it out well.

It's completely gone! I didn't edit these pictures either - so, I mean - wow! Pretty awesome product for $5 if I do say so myself ;)

Here's the 2nd demonstration:

 I used Mac's 'Soar' lip liner which is a pinky-red. I dotted it on so it looks like pimples :)

Then I took the green corrector & dabbed it on over the 'pimples'. After that, I used a skintone concealer to pat over the green. Lastly, I blended it out evenly! 

And once again, it covers up completely.

Pretty amazing, huh?! :D I do enjoy this -- and plan on purchasing another for my kit as well as the 10 concealer palette too! I have a few other EBay palettes as well as the gel liner. So once I use those for awhile, I may do a review on those. Maybe? :)

REVIEW: Elf Body Shimmer Sticks

I've had 2 of these for about 3 weeks, and the other 2 I just got in the mail today. I didn't want to purchase all of them at once because that would have sucked if I didn't like them & wasted money. But, I do love these! So I ended up purchasing them all :)

I use these as highlighters. I just got the Blazing Bronze one (last one pictured) in the mail today - and it's a bit too dark for me, so I will use that one as a contouring shade maybe. I really like the other 3 though. My personal favorite is the Golden Glow one (3rd one pictured). It has actual pieces of glitter every here & there - and I think it looks really nice. The others are mostly just shimmer - no glitter chunks yet!

These are nicely pigmented & go on good! You can just rub these on your face and then blend them with your fingers -- but I dip my finger in the product then glide it across my face so I don't get too much. You kind of wanna have a light hand when using these - or I do at least since I'm kinda pale. 

These are really great & I use the Golden Glow one just about every day! I just got the Cosmic Coral one in the mail today - so I will probably end up using that one just as much!

REVIEW: Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit

I honestly can't find anything else to write about except all the beauty stuff i've gotten recently? Oh well! Helps out people who are looking for good products ;)

I've had this Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit for about 3 weeks now - and I love it! This is a golden bronzer. I use this to contour my cheeks & face with in the winter time - and in the summertime I'll just wear it all over my face for a sun kissed look.

When I contour my cheeks, I add a harsh line right below my cheekbone & blend it out with my fingers. Then I apply whatever blush I may be wearing right above that. After doing that, I go back with my Gold Deposit & do a 'C' shape around my under eye & top outside of my eyebrow. Then I apply Gold Deposit at my hairline. Doing this makes your skin look really pretty & really defines! I've gotten a lot of compliments when wearing this! 

* Sorry if that doesn't really sound clear.. baha. My horrible descriptions again. If anyone wants a tutorial on how to do that, I can show you if you're interested!

You can also use this as a pretty gold/bronzy eyeshadow. It's rather lovely.

I paid $28 for this from Mac - which is a lot to me - but I really like it. I love trying out new bronzers because I wear them all the time, and this is my first high-end bronzer - and it works great. I will definitely repurchase this again & again & again!

I'm really 5, not 21.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Target and I was in need of some new shampoo. I don't really like to splurge on shampoos just because I don't want to spend my whole paycheck on hair products! So I was looking, and i've already tried all the other brands - and I stumbled upon this wonderfullllll kids shampoo! It's the Suave 3-n-1 Shampoo, Body Wash, and Conditioner! I got the Wacky Melon kind & it smells just like Hubba Bubba bubblegum! I got it mainly because it was less than $3, and it smelt good of course!

( Why am I using all of these exclamation points?! )

 I've been using it for the past couple of weeks, and my hair is extremely soft?! -- From a kids shampoo! I'm not sure if it was just the shampoo, because if you've read my previous blog entries - I've also been using the Palmer's Protein Pack Mask as well - but that's only every or every other week. 

But my hair feels really soft & smells delicious - my boyfriend even compliments on how my hair smells. Plus you can also use this as a body wash?! Woohoo! Less money spending for meeee! This bottle is HUGE too - it's 22.5 fl oz! It also has a fun fact on the back - 

"A lizard uses its tongue to smell by sticking it in the air to catch different scents, and then pulling it back into it's mouth!"

Yay for fun facts! .. I like them at least. I like reading them when I bathe. Bahaha, I'm a loser, I know.

I want to get all of the kids products now & try them!

 Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula - Deep Conditioning Protein Pack !

A little background history on my hair:

I use to have extremely long hair - and only used a quarter size amount of conditioner when washing. A few months ago I decided to chop off all my hair - and now I use no conditioner. I feel like it makes my hair greasy. So I just shampoo. 

After washing my hair with shampoo, I applied this mask. I left this on my hair for about 3 minutes (it says 10-20 minutes on the back - but I don't even take baths for that long!) and washed it out. It made my hair feel extremely soft - especially since I don't condition my hair regularly. My hair feels this soft for about a couple of days after using as well! This does leave your hair smelling like coconuts, obviously. I don't really care for the smell of coconut scented things, so I don't really care for that too much - but if you like coconuts - you'll love it!

My hair has been feeling really soft lately - and I'm not sure if it's just from this conditioning mask or from the new shampoo I got as well? Hm! I guess I'll have to experiment.

On the front of the packaging it says 'Restores and replenishes dry, damaged hair'.

 This contains Pure Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, and Vitamin E.

I purchased this at Target for $1.24 (they may have it cheaper at Wal-mart - I'm not sure). I thought this item was a one time use thing - so when I first used it - I used a TON of it at once. So I got a total of 3 uses of this product - when I could have really gotten 4 uses out of it. You're suppose to use this every week or every other week - not daily. 

I haven't really tried any high-end masks - just because when I have extra money to spend - I don't really sit and think 'Hm, I'd really like to spend $25 on this hair mask'. Lol. So I normally just get cheap shampoo, body wash, and masks from Wal-mart and Target. But for only $1.24 - this product works great.

REVIEW: Thirtyonewest Eyeshadows & Blushes

I have added a whole ton of new stuff to my cosmetics line since the last post I did about my Thirtyonewest cosmetics. I have a total of 19 eyeshadows now & 5 blushes (soon to be 7 - I've just been lazy and haven't uploaded the other 2 yet!).  I wanted to show you a few photos of some of my new eyeshadows & blushes - as well as a few ways on how to wear them!

First up - I have a mini Fall collection - which includes: Naked Study, Cranberry Sauce, and Pumpkin Spice!

I really really love these colors - and i'm not just saying that because I made them lol. When I wear these, I will wear Naked Study in the inner corner of my eyelid & either Pumpkin Spice or Cranberry Sauce on the outer edge of my eye! You could actually wear all three at the same time - like Naked Study in the tear duct part of the eye (inner corner <- my definition), Pumpkin Spice in the middle of the eyelid, and Cranberry Sauce on the outer corner of the eye.

These colors look great for fall, and will go with a lot. I actually wore my Cranberry Sauce when I was picking up a few things from Mac Cosmetics - and the makeup artist there complimented my eyeshadow! I wanted to be like, 'Oh, thanks. I made it myself!' - but I didn't want to sound cocky or conceded. :P haha. So I just said thanks :)

Another color I really like to mix - or I should say - wear with Cranberry Sauce is Two of Hearts. Two of Hearts is a bright pinkish red color. It's a really unique color - and I love it! I like to wear this color on my cheeks as well - and yes, I did a blush of this as well! The only difference between the blush & the eyeshadow is that the blush has 3 more ingredients in it than the eyeshadow. I added Kaolin Clay, Silica, & Kosher Rice Powder to the blushes.

I also have 2 more eyeshadows that I have converted to blushes as well which are: Babydoll & Queen Bee.

Queen Bee is a pastel peachy orange color. I normally do not wear peachy/orange coral colored blushes - but I do wear this one! I love the color of this one - it reminds me of creamsicles.

Babydoll is one of my new  favorite blushes! It's of course - a babydoll pink color. It's very shimmery as well - so it can be worn as a highlight too! I wear this one mostly everyday that I do wear blush. My friend purchased one of these from me, and she loved it ! Here's what she said:

 Yayyy!! I marked out her last name for privacy reasons :)

She also purchased the Birthday Suit blush:

 This is a very nude shimmery blush. This can also be worn as a finishing powder if you have a beige colored skin tone. I know this because my friend (the one in the text above) is the one who wears it like that. She told me she wears it as a finish & wears Babydoll on her cheeks.

I have a ton of more products that I need to review that are new - but I just do not have time to do it all! :(
So I will just be posting pictures of all the others - and if you'd like me to review them in the future - please let me know & I will gladly do so! :) I will probably end up doing tutorials with these shadows as well in the future anyway.

This really has nothing to do with reviewing my products - but I am currently working on moving my cosmetics to my own Big Cartel site :D I just feel like it will do better if I move them away from my vintage/handmade items because I feel like my Etsy is cluttered with randomness and I hate it. So I'm currently getting someone to design me a banner for my new site & what not, and hopefully here shortly, I will have my own site for my cosmetics :)

* Pink Dust is more of a highlighter than a blush. It's very shimmery/glittery & has a pinky coral tint to it.

REVIEW: Maybelline Baby Lips!

Before I start, I'd just like to say, that I am just going to be using this blog for reviews & etc! I've decided it's just too stupid to start a whole other blog dedicated to just reviews & what not. And partly because I wanted it to be the same URL as this one :P haha. I couldn't think of another one that I really liked. But yeah, hopefully I'll be posting on here way more than I have been.

Anyway, onward with the review:

 There are 6 total colors (well, Baby Lips) but I only purchased 2 to see how I liked them. I got the Peach Kiss - which is a nude/peachy color & Quenched - which is a sheer lip balm.

Quenched:

I really like this one. It's good to wear alone or on top of your favorite lipsticks! It also smells great - like Fruity Pebbles! :) It makes your lips feel soft & smooth.

Peach Kiss:

I haven't really used this one too much. It smells good as well - I like wearing this one just alone. It's barely even tinted - so it's kind of a sheer nude-ish color.

I got these at Wal-mart for $2.97 each. I think at drugstores they cost about $1 more each. I really like these! On the back of the packaging (which I would post if I still had) it has a study of different percentages of how it made peoples lips feel after 4 weeks of use & such stuff as that. Maybe my lips will feel 'renewed' in 4 weeks? Who knows! Guess we'll see.

But I would recommend these -- esp. if you're like me & love wearing lipsticks! These would look great and make your lips feel good when wearing lipsticks as well. Of course, if you wear the tinted ones over lipstick - wear it with the matching (or somewhat matching) color!

Lime Crime Lipstick Review & Swatches + Thirtyonewest Eyeshadows!

I have had these for almost a month now - but I figure I'd do a review in my free time. I ordered these off of EBay because they're only $14.99 with free shipping - and on the website they are $16 + shipping. I also heard they take awhile to ship out since they are super busy - and I was kinda in a hurry to try these babies out ;)

Here are the the colors I got:

 Yeah, I'm Instagramin' everything on my iPhone, ha! Anyway, the great barbie pink color is the 'Great Pink Planet' & the light orange is called 'Cosmopop'.

 There are my swatches - as you can tell these are SUPER pigmented and eccentric colors.

 & here is me wearing them both! I really like these lipsticks. They're really great and pigmented! They last long as well. The only things I am not too crazy about is when they do start to wear off - it leaves the bright pigmentation on the outside of your lips :/ & these colors are matte -- so they show up fine lines & imperfections well. I like to add gloss on top of these.

I have added 4 new colors to our eyeshadow collection about 3 weeks ago  - which makes that 11 total colors. I have 4 new colors that I am wanting to create - but I don't have any extra money to order the supplies to make them. I've been bad and spending all my money! Today Joshua & I went to Target and I got him 2 new blu-rays - the new X-Men movie & Everything Must Go & then I got myself some Elf (eyeslipsface) products that they had on sale that I just had to get.

Anywayyyy - to wrap this blog entry up, I have come to the conclusion that I do love Lime Crime's lipsticks! I really want to get the Coquette nude color & the Centrifuchsia (sp?)! I also want to try the D'Lilac color with a bright pink lipgloss on top - I think it'd look different - but not too dramatic. However, I do not think I will be purchasing any yellow, blue, or mint colored lipsticks for myself :)
