Zelda Skyward Sword Review

Okay, so I know this game came out this past November - but I haven't played it since Decemeber :P... Until this past week..

I got stuck on one part in the Earth Temple & was frustrated & didn't play it for like 3 months lol. Sad, I know - but I get that way sometimes. But here lately, I've been so into playing this game - I can't stop!

Zelda Skyward Sword is a great game. I still haven't beaten it yet - I am currently located in the Lanayru Mining Facility. The artwork in this game is like a mixture between Wind Waker & Twilight Princess. It's like a watercolor effect & it looks just lovely. The graphics are great for a Wii game! The story line is basically the same - you need to find Zelda.. etc, etc. But the gameplay is a bit different than other Zelda games in my opinion. In Ocarina of Time, you have to run (or roll) around Hyrule & go around on foot to get to where you need to be -- which sometimes takes FOREVER. However, in this Zelda - you can actually run! You do have a stamina meter thing - so you can only run around in short bursts at a time. But it's much more handy than having to walk/roll to your destinations. Next, it is kind of like Wind Waker in the sense that you have to travel around to the different areas. In Wind Waker, you traveled by boat. In Skyward Sword - you travel around on your bird by flying to the area below. Also, in this game - you have almost all the same weapons/tools you have in the other Zelda games - bomb flowers, sword, shield, & the slingshot. The only thing you do not have is the boomerang. However, they replaced it with something much better (in my opnion) -- the Beetle. You shoot this little device into the air to hit certain switches & later in the game you upgrade to the 'Hook Beetle' where you can grab bombs & drop them on enemies. You also do not have Navi following you around annoyingly in this one. You have this sword goddess or something named Fi. She can be annoying at sometimes too though. Not near as bad as Navi. Also, no Ganon in this one! The bad guy in this game is Ghirahim. The one problem with this game that a lot of people have is that you can only use motion controls - no classic controls here. I believe they should have made the option to choose which you'd like to use for those who have issues using the motion controls. However, I personally do not have a problem with the controls - I think they are great. You actually have to slice your enemies up instead of pressing buttons -- which can make your arms kinda sore  -- but its worth it in the end! I think it's fun anyway.. if you're a fan of the Zelda series such as I am -- this is definitely worth your time & money.

That's all I have for now since I have yet to complete this game. But hopefully I will in the next couple of weeks - because I have literally been playing a ton!

Prom Makeup 2012!

I did my co-worker's daughters makeup today for prom! I'm not going to post a tutorial on this entry just because I don't really feel like going through it when I'm not sure if people are even interested - so if you are interested in a tutorial - comment & I'll make one :)

I did a little shopping for my kit before I did her makeup - & I picked up a Mac foundation (I think it's called select something?) in NW25 & Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero as well as the new Naked 2 palette!

Here's all the products I used:
Just a cluster of things :)

And here's a random picture I took of myself while waiting on them to get to my house:
I had a little photoshoot while I was waiting. :P Oh yeah! By the way, I dyed my hair back dark brown & got emo bangs :D Once my hair color fades a bit i'm going to get blonde highlights put in it.

 Before & After

& the finished look.

You like?
I wanted to use a pretty soft peachy coral or baby pink lipstick - but she did not want any lipstick at all - just lipgloss. All the eyeshadows I used were from my new Naked 2 palette :) & I also used the little lipgloss that comes with the palette for her lips.

That's all! Short, I know. But I have to go to work soon! Hope you enjoyed - don't forget to follow! :D

Late March 2012 Favorites!

Sorry this is in the middle of April.. I've just kind of lost interest in doing makeup at the moment. :/ Haha. I've been obsessed with retro games lately! But I'm starting to do more makeup related things as well. This weekend i'm doing a girls makeup for prom & will post about that later on.

Anywayy -- here are my March favorites!
Mostly Elf items (go figure) -- one Maybelline favorite though! :)

 Elf Spring Eyeshadow Collection?
I guess that's what it's called. I think these are limited edition - so get it while you can! I really enjoy using this palette. It's really pretty -- plus, it's only $3! So why not? :) I picked mine up at my local Target.

Elf Brightening Quad in Day 2 Night
I really really like this quad. These are only $1 each -- but they are really pigmented. I use my Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion underneath these, so i'm uncertain of how well they are on their own -- but with a primer, these are great! I have lots of these quads - but this one is my favorite ;)

Elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
Of course I have an Elf blush in my favorites! I do every month. I'm not sure if I stated this in any of my other blog posts -- but I own every color (currently) of the studio elf blushes. I just picked this one up in my last Elf order - and I love it! This is a very light pink. It kind of reminds me of Dandelion by Benefit. Really nice soft color. This product is $3.00.

Elf Cover Everything Concealer & Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This Elf concealer is new - they added it to their essential line - which is suppose to be their $1 line -- but this product is $2. But it's worth it. I really like this color. Online -- the color says it is called 'Corrective Yellow' -- but on the back it says it's 'Fair'? Haha - so if you plan on ordering this online -- it's called Corrective Yellow. I use this for my dark undereye circles & to cover up any pimples if I have some.

I really really really like this Maybelline concealer! I really never use liquid concealers because they never seem to cover my undereye circles like they should. But this one works perfectly. It actually covers my dark circles - and I can tell a difference! My undereye circles are lighter since I've been using this stuff. I don't know exactly how much this product is - my boyfriend got it for me. But it's around $7-8 from Walmart.

That's all my favorites for March! I didn't really have too many favorites -- like I stated before, I haven't really cared about makeup here lately. But hopefully that will change & i'll get back into my makeup stuff again! Hope you enjoyed ;)

March 2012 Game Pickups!

Okay, so this month I've been starting to collect games :P I've always had and played games -- but now I want to own a ton of them! I use to let my boyfriend trade my games in all the time & what not so I don't have as many as I use to :(
I've started collecting gameboy & gameboy color games mainly this month. I got a Gameboy Color - that actually works this time -- and some cheap games to play with it. I got basically all of my gameboy & gameboy color games from a local retro video gaming shop except Super Mario Land 2 & Zelda - which I picked up on EBay. Super Mario Land 2 is personally my favorite Mario game. If you have never played it and currently own a 3DS - they have it out for download (or will very soon?) & you should purchase it :D

I also met up with someone from Craigslist who had a Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP & 10 games for $30 - so of course my cheap ass couldn't turn that down :)
I use to own a Gameboy Color & a Gameboy Advance when I was younger -- but never had an SP. The SP is kind of nice - it has a light so you can actually see what you're doing!

... the games that came with it were pretty terrible - but I'm really glad it came with DK Country 2! I love DK Country games :P I also tried the Shrek game which wasn't all that bad. But for the others, I'm not quite sure what I am going to do with them yet.

Then I started getting a few more DS games to add to my collection:
I got De Blob 2 & Wipeout 2 on sale at Target. De Blob 2 was only $5.98 so I figured why not. It's actually a pretty fun game. Easy, but still fun. Wipeout 2 is a fun game as well! I got it on sale for $8.98. It's very frustrating though sometimes, because even if you make it through a course - if your time isn't low enough - you'll still lose.

I picked up Rune Factory 2 from Wal-Mart for $20. I have been wanting to try this game out. This is a pretty fun game. Just like Harvest Moon (which I haven't played) -- but a fantasy one. Says so on the box :)

I have also heard many things about Chrono Trigger. I never had an SNES when I was younger - so I never played the classic one. I have only dabbled like 5 minutes into this one - but it seems like a neat game.

When I was at the retro game store, I also picked up a SNES game - Aero the Acrobat. I got this for $3.85 and I enjoy it. I got it after watching a commentary by Necrovmx on Youtube. It looked rather interesting and for less than $5 - why not?

I also picked up a few Wii/Gamecube games. In my last blog, I posted that I got the Zelda Four Swords at Gamestop. My boyfriend surprised me with Kirby's Return to Dreamland - which is a pretty fun game. I love Kirby :D I also picked up Mad World & Cursed Mountain. Mad World is a fun game, but it's gross :P Haha. You have to kill people in crazy fucked up ways to earn points. I haven't played too much of Cursed Mountain yet - but it seems like a pretty interesting game.

That's all the games I have currently gotten this month! I plan on doing a March favorites for beauty products as well. I'll most likely be posting that tomorrow since I have the day off! I hope you enjoyed this - I know it's a bit different than stuff I normally post :P
